Buea looked beautiful today on the event of the Mount Cameroon Guinness Race of Hope. More than 250 athletes raced up the rocky stony cliffs of over 4095 metres above sea level to demonstrate strength and resilience and challenge for the trophy. Buea has hosted this annual event since 1973, and the edition of 2018 was filled with pomp and athletic exuberance. Thousands of tourists invaded the municipality to enjoy not only the sporting event, but also the atmosphere of culture and hospitality. In the presence of government officials, the athletes in diverse categories kicked-off at 7 am Central African Time from the Buea Omnisport Stadium to speed up the Chariot of the Gods.
