Sources at the Ministry of Justice indicate significant progress has been made on the paperwork for an official request to the Belgian Government for the arrest and eventual extradition of Mr Mark Bareta. Born on December 15, 1984 and descendants of Nso, in the North West Region of Cameroon, Mr Bareta who now resides in Belgium posing as a refugee student is been accused of promoting civil war, accomplice to destabilisation of the state and promoting acts of terror that had led to loss of lives in Bamenda, Ekona and Kumba. An anonymous source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reveal the state is not hurrying the process, despite the readiness of the State Prosecutor on accumulating wealth of evidence largely from online publications and forensic evidence from some arrests made in Buea on persons disseminating flyers calling for a ghost town, who revealed financial sponsorship from overseas including Belgium. The successful extradition of the ISIS inspired Cameroonian cyber-activist will be an asset in the country’s effort to thwart civil disobedience and prevent a civil war. Mr Bareta has been, in recent days, very boastful on his capacity to topple the state and has co-authored press releases insulting Cameroonians of French expression and fomenting a revolution.
In a recent online post titled, ‘Special Message to People of Victoria (Limbe)’, Mr Bareta writes as follows: “We need to capture Limbe completely. Last Ghost towns, we took noticed that some shops were opened. Some taxis and okada drivers worked. Reports indicate that these were mostly francophones from the bassa, Ewondo, Beti, Bamilikes extraction who never obeyed the call. Please we are one people and we understand that Limbe is a cosmopolitan city but everyone needs to respect the struggle. Disturbing reports have always indicated Limbe as a black leg city. While I trust and love the people of Limbe, I hope tomorrow ghost towns you will make us proud.”
Mr Bareta, sources reveal, has held dozens of meetings in his base in Belgium to plot effective strategies for a civil war in Cameroon. The ENO gathers that voice recordings of about two of such meetings expose clearly how the plans shall be unleashed. There is uneasiness in security quarters since some of the strategies recounted in the voice recordings have been executed as planned in the burning of shops and township taxis in Buea during ghost towns, indicating significant home-based collaboration. Recently, some youths were arrested distributing flyers calling for civil disobedience, and during their interrogation attributed this to orders from Mark Bareta, indicating clearly his complicity to foment civil war and revolution in Cameroon.
Many commentators are watching carefully Government’s move and success on this mission, as its going to be paramount in defining the country’s relationship with its hostile disguised diasporan economic refugee population.
A Senior Official in the Ministry of Territorial Administration called on Cameroonians to remain vigilant, and called on patriotic diasporans to take their responsibility to report suspicious actions to the nearest Cameroon diplomatic mission. The attention of the Belgian Diplomatic Mission catering for Cameroon’s interest has been called, by Cameroon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the actions of Cameroonian émigrés in Belgium.
