Javier Clemente, Omam Biyick, Jacques Songo’o; the trio in command

It was being rumoured, the rumour and speculation was confirmed through a communiqué signed on Tuesday 17th of August 2010. Javier Clemente, Omam Biyick and Jacques Songo’o all make up the team to coach the Indomitable Lions in the next two years. Before the communiqué was made public, some fans whispered that an agreement between Javier Clemente and the President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Iya Mohamed had been signed in Biarritz, France. The Spanish coach who has been a player and former coach of the Spanish national team will receive his baptism of fire in just about three weeks as Cameroon faces the Mauritius Island in matches counting for the eliminatory of the African Cup of Nations.
Javier Clemente shall be assisted by Omam Biyick and Jacques Songo’o; two former Indomitable Lions.
44 year old Francois Omam Biyick has been coaching in Europe since 2004. He is an excellent reminder of Cameroonians football during its heydays when the boy from Sackbayeme (Sanaga Maritime division) used his centre front position to bring world attention to Cameroon during the opening match of the 1990 world cup in Italy.
Jacques Songo’o who was confirmed as coach for the goalkeepers is a very discreet and efficient technician who successfully took Cameroon through a recent friendly with Poland during which the Indomitable Lions prevailed.
After the appointment of the coaches, attention is now turned to the Cameroon Football Federation that has convened an executive council meeting on Friday 20th August 2010.
Some sources indicate other sweeping decisions concerning the management of football in Cameroon shall be reached at the end of the meeting.
The council shall definitely follow guidelines drawn by the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education in conjunction with the Prime Minister’s Office engaged in reforming the management of football in Cameroon.//CRTV
Indomitable Lions: give fans a smile after World Cup debacle

The Cameroon national football team, the Indomitable Lions has turned the tides after the spell of serial defeats. The team overpowered the Polish National team by 3-0 in an international friendly match played in Poland this 11th August 2010. The match was is part of preparations for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Team captain, Samuel Eto’o once again demonstrated his football prowess when he opened score for Cameroon.
Moments later the football icon sent he polish goal keeper to the back of the net for goal number two for the lions; he was later replaced by Vincent Aboubakar .
The youngster, during the last quarter of the match, followed in the steps of his team captain; he scored what fans described as the best goal of the match.
The impermeable mobile defence wall built by the lions was a major obstacle for the polish that lost the lone opportunity for a goal.
The Indomitable Lions are leaving Poland shoulders high and fans are happy although there are no stakes.
Cameroonian born Caretaker coach, Jacques Songo left the pitch satisfied with the 4:4:2 play style he adopted that paid off.
Fans did give him a pass mark for his ability to hang on until a permanent coach for the Indomitable Lions joins the train.//CRTV
