Administrators from eight ministries have attended a five day training workshop in Yaounde .The workshop which was jointly organized by the Cameroon government and Commonwealth Secretariat was organized to build the capacities of entrepreneurs especially those of the handicraft sector.
Workshop facilitators from the Commonwealth Secretariat updated participants on how best to lend institutional support, finance and development the handicraft sector in the country.
The workshop was chaired by the Minister of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa.
In his address, the Minister said the economic advancement of the country, to a large extend, depend on the development of small and medium size enterprises that is why he urged participants to use knowledge acquired at the end of the exercise, to improve the sector.
Participants from the Ministries of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries; Agriculture and Rural Development; Tourism; Forestry and Wildlife; Transport; Environment and Nature Protection and Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft proposed a promotion and development policy for SMEs in Cameroon before they departed.//CRTV
